How does the Sourcing Agent work?

The Sourcing Agent finds and qualifies profiles for you every day. Launch, first profiles to review, conversation, budget and credits.

Written by Vincent Maillard de la Morandais

The Sourcing Agent is a sourcing that keeps working for you. You describe the role, it builds the search, shows you a few first profiles to check it's on target, then analyses the talent pool day after day and brings you the best profiles.

Above all, it explores many equivalent and relevant talent pools on its own: similar job titles, comparable companies, rephrasings of your need… and suggests ways to broaden the search when it helps. With AI Sourcing, it was up to you to adjust your filters and criteria to find new profiles. The Agent does it for you, and you talk to it in a conversation, just like with a colleague.

Launching the Sourcing Agent

  1. Create a sourcing as usual.

  2. At the job description step, choose Sourcing agent instead of AI Sourcing (New badge).

  3. Paste your job description or describe the profile in your own words, then confirm. The Agent receives your text as its first message.

On an existing sourcing, you can also switch to the Agent with the Classic Sourcing / AI Sourcing / Sourcing agent switch.

Good to know:

  • The Agent reads your description as text. PDF upload isn't available in this mode: copy and paste its content instead.

  • If the description is very long, Kalent asks you to shorten it before continuing.

  • Don't see the option? Message us from the chat.

The 4 steps

  1. You describe the role. The Agent extracts the need, the search filters and the qualification criteria. If a term could mean several things, it asks you before starting.

  2. You approve the search. The Agent shows you what it understood and waits for your go-ahead: click the button it offers, or simply reply “I confirm”.

  3. You review the first profiles. The Agent shows you 3. For each one, click Keep this profile or Reject this profile.

  4. The Agent sources continuously. Once the search is validated, it analyses profiles every day up to your daily budget, then resumes the next morning.

First profiles to review

Before searching at scale, the Agent shows you 3 profiles it rates as strong. Your feedback confirms it understood what you're looking for.

  • All kept: the search is validated and the Agent moves on to continuous sourcing.

  • Some rejected: the Agent shows you other profiles from the same search.

  • All rejected: the Agent adjusts the search itself based on your rejections, then shows you new profiles.

Don't hesitate to reject. A profile rejected with a reason (“too junior”, “never worked in B2B”…) teaches the Agent more than three approvals.

Kept profiles are added to your candidates with the To be contacted status. Rejected profiles appear as Not retained, so your decision is on record.

Understanding the Agent page

  • Left: your brief and the history of searches run by the Agent. For each one, you see its filters, its evaluation criteria and what changed from the previous one.

  • Center: the profiles found, sorted into Strong, Medium, Weak and Set aside. Strong matches are shown by default.

  • Right: what the Agent is doing right now, the estimated pool of the current search, your daily budget and the number of profiles per qualification, Today or in Total.

Qualifications work as in AI Sourcing: a Strong match clearly meets all your criteria, a Medium one meets them partly or lacks information, a Weak one fails at least one criterion.

Strong profiles wait for you: the Agent doesn't add them to your candidates on its own. From their card, add them to your favorites or reject them.

Some profiles that are far from your criteria are set aside during a pre-screening, without a detailed analysis. You are not charged for them.

Talking to the Agent

Open the conversation to ask the Agent for what you need, in English or French. For example:

  • “Where does the search stand?”

  • “Add a criterion: has already managed a team.”

  • “Remove the years of experience filter.”

  • “Look for equivalent job titles.”

  • “Suggest ways to broaden the search.”

  • “Show me the candidates I already kept.”

The Agent never changes the search without your approval: it shows you the change and waits for you to confirm. When filters or criteria change, it shows you a few profiles again to check it's still on target.

When the Agent needs you (feedback on profiles, a question, a choice to make), a message appears on the page, and your sourcing's status shows it in your list of sourcings.

When the pool runs out

When every profile of a search has been analysed, the Agent:

  1. first rephrases the search on its own, for example with equivalent job titles, without changing your need;

  2. then, when no equivalent wording is left, suggests ways to broaden the search, with an estimated pool for each. You pick one or more, or pause the search.

For a broadened search, you review a few profiles again before the Agent resumes at scale.

Daily budget and credits

  • Each profile analysed in detail uses 2 sourcing credits, just like AI Sourcing.

  • You set the number of profiles analysed per day: 50 by default, from 1 to 400. Change it anytime with the pencil in the Budget block. The new budget applies from the next analysis day.

  • Daily budget reached: the Agent resumes automatically the next morning. To go further right away, click Continue today.

  • Out of credits: the Agent pauses and nothing is lost. Top up your credits (Buy credits button), then click Resume today. Otherwise it resumes on its own the next morning if your balance allows it.

Pausing, resuming and ending

  • Pause stops the analysis. Resume picks it up where it left off.

  • If the Agent was stopped (by you, after an incident, or after a month without a reply from you), Resume restarts on the same search. Profiles already analysed are neither analysed nor charged again.

  • When a search is finished, the Agent offers to restart it, review its criteria or broaden it.

You can switch back to AI Sourcing or classic sourcing at any time with the view switch.
