How do I launch a search from a lookalike profile?

Paste the LinkedIn URL of an ideal candidate in the agent: Kalent looks for profiles like it.

Written by Vincent Maillard de la Morandais

Already know the ideal person for your role? Instead of writing a job description, you can start from their LinkedIn profile: the Kalent agent looks for profiles like it.

Launch the search

  1. Open your search, on the Sourcing agent (or Prospecting agent) tab.

  2. In the assistant field, click +, then Lookalike.

  3. Paste the LinkedIn profile URL, shaped like linkedin.com/in/…. As soon as it is recognised, an in/… pill replaces the link. One URL at a time.

  4. Send it. Kalent fetches the profile and shows it in the thread, under Ideal profile (or Ideal prospect), with the Launch the search → button.

  5. If needed, add instructions in the chat before launching, for example “based in Paris, no management”. The agent updates its proposal.

  6. Click Launch the search →.

What the agent looks for

  • Profiles in a close role, with comparable experience, skills and location.

  • Your instructions always come before the profile: if you ask for Paris while the person is in Lyon, the agent searches in Paris.

  • The profile’s company and school are not used as filters, unless you ask for them in your instructions.

  • The reference profile never shows up in the results.

  • In prospecting, the profile’s current company is excluded from the results.

After the launch

The search then works like any agent search: you can adjust it by writing in the chat. Fetching the reference profile uses no credits.

If the profile cannot be read

  • “Invalid URL”: the pasted text is not a LinkedIn profile URL. Copy the address from the profile page.

  • “This profile could not be found”: check the URL or send another one.

  • “This profile cannot be fetched right now”: try again a bit later.

Don’t see Lookalike in the + menu? The feature is being rolled out: contact us through the chat to get access.
