Once your sourcing is live and you’ve identified the right profiles, it’s time to take action: reach out to your candidates!
Contacting a candidate individually
From each candidate's profile, you can send a message via the Talent View (bottom right corner) and select the channel you'd like to use: LinkedIn, email, or WhatsApp.
You have two options:
Use a template you've created, with dynamic variables — or generate one with the help of your AI copilot(purple button)
Write a custom message directly in the editor — or generate one with the copilot and then edit it by clicking on it
💡 Tip: Messages generated with the copilot (purple box) take into account both the job opportunity context and the candidate's profile, for more personalized outreach.
⚠️ Notes about LinkedIn messages
When sending messages via LinkedIn, you’re subject to the same limitations as on the platform itself:
If you don’t have InMails, you’ll be limited to:
200 characters for messages sent with a connection request
300 characters if you're using a Premium account
If you do have InMails, you can enable this option directly in the message editor.
Simply toggle the InMail option in the message block to switch from a connection request message to a full InMail.
Save time by using message sequences!
Instead of reaching out one by one, you can launch bulk message sequences to contact multiple candidates at once.
Launching a message sequence
From the Shortlisted profiles view:
Select all the candidates you want to contact
Click "Contact"
⚠️ Note: Once you’ve set up your parameters, repeating this action will automatically launch the message sequence.
To edit the settings, click on the gear icon just above.
Setting up your sequence
A setup panel will open. Here's what to do:
Choose your communication channels: LinkedIn and/or WhatsApp
Provide context for your conversational AI agent so it can personalize the messages based on both:
The candidate’s profile
Your job opportunity or mission
Once you click “Validate” and close the panel, you’ll be prompted to choose the format of the messages you want to send:
Keep them as "Suggested by Kalent"
Or replace them with your own templates
In this example, I selected LinkedIn and WhatsApp, and kept the messages as "Suggested by Kalent".
How the sequence works
Once the setup is complete and you click “Contact” again after selecting your profiles, the sequence will run like this:
A connection request is sent on LinkedIn (without a message)
A WhatsApp message is generated in your messaging view — you’ll need to manually validate it before sending
If there’s no response within 3 days, a follow-up message will be suggested — again, to be validated manually
⚠️ Important:
If you replace a suggested message with a custom template, the message will be sent automatically, without manual approval.
Once launched, a sequence cannot be stopped, so make sure all your parameters are set correctly before validating.
You can close the setup panel by clicking outside of it, then select your profiles and click “Contact” to send the sequence.
Tracking replies and following up
As soon as a candidate replies:
You’ll be notified instantly on LinkedIn and/or WhatsApp
Their response will appear on your Kalent dashboard
You can view the full conversation history from the candidate’s individual view, in the "Interactions" tab
From there, you can easily continue the conversation or schedule a manual follow-up if needed.
