I got banned from WhatsApp (or I’m afraid I will). Why? And what can I do?

Can I get blocked on WhatsApp or LinkedIn if I spam candidates?

Yes, it’s possible, depending on how you use the platforms.

On WhatsApp:

You’ll only get banned if someone reports your message as spam.
WhatsApp doesn’t have preventive spam detection — but multiple reports can lead to a temporary suspension.

✅ To avoid this:

  • Personalize your messages

  • Take the candidate’s context into account

  • Avoid bulk, generic outreach

🛠 If you do get banned, you can contact WhatsApp support. In most cases, your account will be restored within 24–48 hours.

On LinkedIn:

LinkedIn is much stricter. They may restrict your account if your activity violates their terms of service, such as:

  • Spam

  • Fake profiles or identities

  • Scams or misleading content

  • Risk to the platform’s user safety

To prevent this, you have the same daily messaging limit as on LinkedIn (30 messages/day).
You can access and adjust your sending settings directly in the messaging section.

🔒 Best advice: Be human, stay relevant, and avoid over-automation.
