Kalent uses a cookie-based LinkedIn connection method. These cookies allow Kalent to act as if you're logged in, without having to enter your credentials every time.
However, LinkedIn applies strict security rules:
If it detects unusual activity (such as a login from a third-party tool or a change in IP address), it may revoke those cookies.
➡️ As a result, you're automatically disconnected from Kalent.
How to Reconnect Properly
To avoid frequent disconnections, follow this method:
Click on your name → go to Settings.
Click on Messaging → Connect.
Click “Cookies” and enter the required information.
How to Find Your LinkedIn Cookies (not available on mobile):
Open LinkedIn in a new tab (or click here) and log into your account.
Open your browser’s developer console:
Press F12 (Chrome & Firefox)
Or Option + Command + I (Safari)
Go to the “Application” or “Storage” tab.
Open the Cookies folder and select “https://www.linkedin.com”.
Copy the value of “li_at” and paste it into the field in Kalent, then click the Connect button.
If you’re using LinkedIn Recruiter, use the value of “li_a” (not shown in the screenshot but found in the same list).
Quick diagnosis: is your LinkedIn connection actually the issue?
Before contacting support, run this 30-second check:
Go to Settings → Messaging.
Check that your LinkedIn account appears with the status Connected — the button should be red and labeled "Disconnect".
If the account is not connected (the button says "Connect"), reconnect it using the method described above for your case (Cookies / Recruiter).
If the problem persists after reconnecting, contact support via the chat (bubble at the bottom right) and explicitly ask to speak to a human. So we can investigate quickly, please attach:
The exact error message (full screenshot if possible)
The name of the sourcing or sequence affected
Since when you've been hitting the problem
"Import cancelled" error in a sourcing
If you see the message "Import cancelled" when trying to import a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search into a sourcing, it's usually the same problem: LinkedIn has revoked your connection cookies and Kalent can no longer act on your behalf.
The fix is the same: go to Settings → Messaging → Connect and reconnect LinkedIn using the Cookies method described above. The import will work again as soon as the connection is restored.
My sequences are flipping to "Error" — is it related?
Yes, in most cases. When a LinkedIn step in a sequence suddenly goes from Scheduled to Error with no technical message, it's because Kalent's LinkedIn connection is no longer valid (cookies revoked). Messages can no longer be sent.
Before writing to support, please check:
Reconnect LinkedIn from Settings → Messaging → Connect (Cookies method if that's what you use).
Restart the sequence and watch whether the step moves from Error back to Scheduled.
If some profiles stay stuck on "action required", you need to manually validate the AI-generated message before the sequence can send it — that is unrelated to the connection issue.
Special case: LinkedIn Recruiter accounts
If you use LinkedIn Recruiter (not just standard LinkedIn), explicitly pick the Recruiter option when reconnecting in Kalent — not just Cookies. Kalent will then show you the Recruiter-specific instructions and the form to fill with the right cookies (including li_a on top of li_at).
This choice matters: it ensures Kalent actively maintains your Recruiter session, which is more sensitive to session changes than standard LinkedIn.
